The Eaton ETR4-51-A is a highly sensitive thermal overload relay designed to protect very small three-phase motors from damage caused by overloads and phase failures. It is a component of a motor starter combination, typically mounted directly onto a compatible contactor. The relay operates on a bimetallic strip mechanism that responds to heat generated by the motor current. If the current exceeds the set value for a prolonged period, the relay will trip, opening its auxiliary contacts to interrupt the control circuit and safely disconnect the motor. Its very low current setting range makes it specifically suited for protecting micro-drives and low-power motors in precision applications.
