The ABB GDA204-AC is a 4-pole, Type AC, double-insulated (isolated) enclosure for Residual Current Devices (RCDs) from the ABB GDA series. This is not an electrical protection device itself, but a high-safety, non-conductive mounting enclosure designed to house and insulate a standard 4-pole RCCB (Residual Current Circuit Breaker without overcurrent protection) or RCBO. Its primary function is to provide enhanced safety and insulation for the RCD module, creating an extra layer of protection against accidental contact with live parts. This is particularly important when installing RCDs in environments where metallic enclosures are not desired or for added safety in consumer units.
